Man injured in front of Superstore

A 73-year-old Prince George man is in hospital after being hit by a vehicle right in front of Canadian Superstore located on Ferry Avenue and Highway 16 West. RCMP were called to the incident at 10:02 a.m.

A 73-year-old Prince George man is in hospital after being hit by a vehicle right in front of Canadian Superstore located on Ferry Avenue and Highway 16 West.

RCMP were called to the incident at 10:02 a.m. Wednesday, but are still investigating details of the accident which resulted in the pedestrian being taken by ambulance to University Hospital of Northern B.C. The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.

Police said the driver of the older model Toyota pickup truck remained at the scene.

The incident marks the third motor vehicle accident in which pedestrians have been harmed during the past 31 days.

Stanley Heavysides, 49 was fatally injured at the intersection of Ospika Boulevard and Melody Crescent on Jan. 30. A 33-year-old woman remains in critical condition after being struck Feb. 27 by a small pickup truck near the former Esso gas station in Spruceland Shopping Centre.
