Man dead after Sunday morning shooting

A 45-year-old man who was shot Sunday morning at about 10:30 a.m. near Fifth Avenue and Gillett Street in Prince George has died. RCMP answered the call, along with other emergency services, after a report came in about a man down.

A 45-year-old man who was shot Sunday morning at about 10:30 a.m. near Fifth Avenue and Gillett Street in Prince George has died.

RCMP answered the call, along with other emergency services, after a report came in about a man down.

When officers arrived they found an adult male with serious injuries.

The man was taken to the hospital where he died.

Foul play is suspected and the Prince George RCMP's serious crime section is taking on the investigation.

The west bound section of Fifth Avenue from Carney Street to Gillett Street was closed until 6 p.m. Sunday while evidence was gathered.

Investigators are requesting the public's help with this investigation.
