A 42-year-old Prince George man known both to police and the courts is facing new charges following a drug bust Wednesday on a South Fort George home.

Crown counsel has approved a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking against Kenneth Raymond Thellandand he remained in custody as of Friday following his arrest at the 1100 block Cuddie Crescent home.

Heroin and crack cocaine with a street value of about $1,000 was seized, as was marijuana and drug trafficking paraphernalia, Prince George RCMP said.

A 32-year-old woman was also arrested and since released on a promise to appear. Police are recommending she also be charged with a number of drug-related offences.

In April 2011, Thelland was sentenced to 15 months in jail for two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking from a July 2010 incident and in October 2010, he was sentenced to six months in jail for trafficking from a July 2009 incident.

Thelland's record also includes two months in jail for possessing or making explosives. He received that term in August 2006 from a March 2006 incident.
