A Prince George man is in custody facing charges in connection to a sexual assault that occurred in Connaught Hill Park on Sunday.
Police were called to the park on Sunday, where they secured the scene and gathered evidence. Ryan Kenneth McLane, 37, was located and arrested a short time after the report was made.
"This violent attack is not believed to be a random," a statement issued by the Prince George RCMP said. "McLane and the victim are known to each other. McLane was held in custody and will appear in court later today."
McLane is facing charges of sexual assault, assault by choking, assault with a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause bodily harm and theft under $5,000.
