Man axe-handled

Prince George RCMP were called to an assault incident in the 1900 block of Upland Street at a 12:25 p.m. Monday.

A 42-year-old male resident of Prince George had been assaulted with what appears to be an axe handle by another male who ran away, said Cst. Gary Godwin, RCMP media liaison.

The investigation to this point shows the two knew each other, and the assault appears to have been targeted, added Godwin.

The victim received minor injuries to his arm and was treated by Emergency Health Services.

Both the assailant and the victim are known to police. Anyone witnessing the assault or knows of the whereabouts of the assailant is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or visit the we site at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca.
