One man was hospitalized after being attacked with a weapon outside a convenience store in Williams Lake on New Years Day.
According to Williams Lake RCMP, the man had left the store and was getting into his vehicle when he was approached by two suspects shortly after 8 p.m. One of the suspects demanded the man's vehicle keys, and a struggle ensued between the man and one of the suspects.
During the fight, the man was injured with an edged weapon before fleeing back into the store. The suspects followed the man, took his keys from him and rummaged inside his vehicle before fleeing on foot.
The man was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspects are described as aboriginal males wearing dark clothing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Williams Lake RCMP at 250-392-6211 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
