One of two suspects is in custody after a firearms incident north of the city.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says Prince George RCMP received a report just before 8 a.m. yesterday morning (June 16) of an incident involving a firearm and two men in the Salmon Valley area.

Officers including a Police Dog Service team arrived on scene and investigators also requested help from the North District RCMP Emergency Response Team and Air Services Section.

As a result, a 50-year-old man was arrested.

Douglass says the two men involved are known to each other and no shots were believed to be fired.

The one man remains in police custody but charges have not been officially laid against him.

The investigation is ongoing.
