Prince George RCMP received a report of an alleged sexual assault in the downtown area at 3 a.m. Tuesday after a private security officer had been flagged down by a woman.
The 48-year-old woman, who said she had been sexually assaulted in an alley behind the 1100 block of Second Avenue, was able to give a detailed description of her attacker.
A short time later police arrested a 27-year-old Prince George suspect who is being held for investigation as well as unrelated criminal charges for alleged breach of court orders.
Police are asking anyone witnessing or with information regarding the incident to call the detachment at 250-561-3300.
