A man with an outstanding arrest warrant has now been taken into custody after threatening two City of Prince George Bylaw Officers in a downtown parkade.

On Saturday (Aug. 22) around 1:15 p.m., RCMP received a report of a man threatening two bylaw officers both verbally and with blunt objects.

Mounties then attended and located the suspect a short distance away but initially provided a false name.

Once he was positively identified as George William Alexis, a 47-year-old man currently residing in Prince George, he had an arrest warrant out of Quesnel to his name and was believed to be breaching both his probation and condition of a previous release.

Police say no injuries were reported from the incident.

Alexis was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm, obstructing a peace officer, failing to comply with probation, and failing to comply with a release order.

Police say Alexis has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday (Aug. 26).
