A man believed to have been unlawfully confined and beaten in a residence in the 2200 block of Quince Street managed to escape and call police Thursday evening.
The man appeared to have fled to a neigbouring house and phoned police at about 6:15 p.m.
RCMP officers arrived at the scene and arrested a male and female in the house where the incident was reported to have taken place.
The injured man was taken to hospital where he was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.
The residence was secured while police awaited a search warrant.
RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass said more details will be released today.
