The top answer was a resounding "Yes, local professors are some of the lowest paid university faculty in Canada," which garnered 44 per cent of the vote, with a convincing 943 votes in total.

Trailing in second place was a conflicting answer that stated "No, local professors are paid enough already in salary and benefits," which got 26 per cent of the vote, taking 553 of the votes.

"Yes, local professors deserve more money for attracting research dollars and top students," came in at 16 per cent and 345 votes, while "No, the university can't afford to pay more without cutting programs," came in at 14 per cent, with a total of 299 votes.

There was 2,140 votes overall. Remember, this is not a scientific poll.
