If getting rich quick is on your list of New Year's resolutions, this Friday's (Jan. 3) historic Lotto draw has you in mind.
For the first time ever, a $70 million jackpot is on offer for the week's Lotto Max draw.
When you take into account 10 Maxmillion prizes, a total of $80 million in top prizes is available.
Nobody won the $65 million jackpot from yesterday's (Dec. 31) draw and five Maxmillion winners.
There was also a $500,000 winner from Duncan, B.C. in the Lotto Max Extra Prize draw.
In May 2019, the maximum jackpot amount was increased to $70 million, and a second draw was added on Tuesdays.
B.C. lottery players claimed a record-breaking $785 million in winnings in 2019.
This week's record-breaking nationwide jackpot will be drawn after 7:30 p.m. Pacific on Friday.
