The Komatsu machine was valued at about $400,000 by police. They are investigating the incident that was discovered on June 29 by its owners.

"This vehicle was driven off a cliff, and into the water at this rock quarry," said Prince George RCMP media liaison officer Gary Godwin.

The quarry was on Tallus Road and Caine Creek Road north of the city near Summit Lake. The loader is owned by Twin Rivers Development Ltd., a Prince George based company. The full extent of the damage to the specialty vehicle were not disclosed.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in gathering information about this expensive act of vandalism.
