Prince George's gang unit seized a loaded handgun and arrested two suspects in a city park.
Members of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit - an RCMP team dedicated to dissecting the organized crime elements in Northern B.C. - pulled over a vehicle on Tuesday. It was a hot afternoon in Connaught Hill Park, about 3:30 p.m., when the police approached the pair inside.
A young female and an adult male were in the vehicle. Police said a loaded handgun was also inside. Both people were arrested. The female was released on a promise to appear at court at a future date and the male was held in custody. He is believed to be associated to organized crime, said police.
The investigation will continue, said a written statement from the gang squad.
