Nearly half of those who voted in a Citizen online poll say marijuana should be sold only in specifically licensed retail outlets when asked what rules around pot sales they would like to see.
In all, 46 per cent, 1,131 of the 2,484 who responded to the unscientific poll were in favour of that position.
Allowing any retailer who can get a licence to do so drew 613 votes for 25 per cent of the total, while selling marijuana only in provincial liquor stores drew only 470 votes, or 19 per cent, and selling only in provincial liquor stores and cold beer and wine outlets drew just 270 votes for 11 per cent.
The B.C. Government is seeking public input until Nov. 1 on marijuana rules before it becomes legal next July.
