Less than one per cent of Northern Health residents tested so far for COVID-19

As of today (April 27), there have been a total of 2,839 COVID-19 tests conducted in Northern Health, which is less than one percent of the region's population.

Northern Health has approximately 300,000 people in its entire jurisdiction.

“Northern Health provides a full range of health care services to the 285,131 residents of Northern British Columbia,” notes Northern Health’s 2017-18 to 2019-20 service plan.

As of Saturday (April 25), there are 42 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the north, 33 of which have recovered and no deaths.

More than 7,000 people work for Northern Health.

Their facilities include more than two dozen hospitals, 14 long-term care facilities, public health units and community offices providing specialized services.
