Irvin Leroux has not given up his fight against the federal government's tax collector.

The 70-year-old former businessman has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise enough money to cover the costs of appealing a B.C. Supreme Court decision that gave him only a partial victory.

The decision, issued in May following a lengthy trial in Prince George, found Canada Revenue Agency breached its duty of care but fell short of awarding him damages, concluding there was insufficient evidence that the CRA's treatment of him led to his financial ruin.

The Canadian Constitution Foundation covered about half his expenses for the B.C. Supreme Court hearing but has said pursuing an appeal on the decision not to award damages is outside its mandate.
