A natural gas leak forced a closure Thursday morning of a section of downtown Prince George.
Called to the scene at 7:40 a.m., police evacuated the area in the vicinity of Brunswick Street and Ninth Avenue while a Fortis BC crew worked to stop the leak.
Firefighters were also called to the scene and trained water hoses on the site as a precaution.
By 11 a.m. the area was declared safe and reopened.
A construction crew who recently began working on a new hotel had struck a three-inch line, RCMP said.
