What was believed to have been a knife was held to the throat of a food delivery driver in one of a trio of violent crimes reported to the Prince George RCMP this week.
According to a report to police, the incident occurred shortly before midnight on Tuesday when the driver was making a delivery to a Goheen Place address in the Pinecone neighbourhood.
As he approached a female who was waiting for the delivery, a man came up from behind with the weapon, RCMP said Friday.
The two then took the food and some cash and fled down a nearby pathway towards Forest Place.
A handler and dog were called in but were unable to locate the suspects.
The man is described as aboriginal, 25 to 30 years old, 173 cm (5'8") tall with a medium build and wearing a white hoody under a black jacket.
The woman is described as caucasian, with brown hair in a pony tail and wearing a red jacket with a dark stripe.
The victim was shaken but otherwise unharmed.
Then on Thursday at about 9:30 a.m., RCMP were called to a report of a robbery of a service station near the corner of Highway 16 and Range Road in Peden Hill.
Officers were told it occurred about six hours earlier, at 3:20 a.m., when a fair-skinned male, 15 to 20 years old, walked in, indicated he had a weapon, then fled on foot with merchandise he had stolen.
Due to the time delay, police were unable to search for the suspect. However, his image was caught on a security camera and released by the RCMP.
The suspect is further described as having brown hair with a goatee and a slender build and wearing a white or light-grey ball cap with "Loyalty" written in front, a black Under Armour-brand hoodie with a grey hood, black and white Nike-brand shoes with red laces.
"Indications are that the suspect was accompanied by another person who remained outside the business during the robbery," RCMP added.
Later the same day, at about 5:45 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a 900-block Ahbau St. apartment building.
Officers were told two males with faces covered, broke a window and entered a ground-floor unit. The occupants – an adult and child – got out immediately upon hearing the window break while the culprits spent a short time in the apartment, before leaving through the main door.
One of them pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at the adult in the hallway on the way out and the two fled on foot.
It appears the suspects were looking for something in the apartment, although it appears nothing was taken.
Both were described as having medium builds and heights. One was wearing a balaclava mask, black jacket and black pants and the other a 'bomber' style jacket. And one of the suspects had blue eyes.
Also on Thursday, RCMP were called to a break-in at a Grassland Road home in the Shell-Glen area at about 3:15 p.m. Eight rifles and several electronic items had gone missing and it appears whomever committed the theft fled in a vehicle.
"At this time, investigators do not believe that these incidents are related," RCMP said. "Police would like to remind the public to be vigilant and report all suspicious activity to the police immediately."
