The annual Kidney Walk will take on a new form when it's held this year.
Set for Sun., June 7, 10 a.m. start, organizers are asking participants to practice physical distancing in answer to the novel corona virus pandemic by walking their block rather than meeting in a large group as they have in past years.
They will still get a chance to share their experience by going online through either Facebook Live (facebook.com/kidneybcy) or YouTube (subscribe to youtube.com/c/kidneypluggedin).
"Kidney Walk is such an important event in my life and in my family's life," said Kidney Walk honourary chair, Elliot Rose. "My journey with kidney disease began when I was starting university. I've been on dialysis and was fortunate to receive a kidney from my uncle who stepped up to be a living donor.
"Now, I passionately do all I can to support the cause of kidney health. The incredible work the Kidney Foundation does is why I'm so honoured to be taking part."
