The Salvation Army's kettle campaign hopes to reach its goal with a few days left to go.

As of last week, $143,956 has been raised, leaving $106,044 to go.

Although that's still a lot of money to raise, the Salvation Army remains hopeful as the number of shifts to fill for the week dropped from over 180 to 61 hours.

"Thanks to Prince George for answering the call. Just need a few more shifts filled and we are confident that the generosity of Prince George will shine through once again," business manger Bill Glasgow said.

On Tuesday, Northern Trailer and Jack and Jill Embroidery handed over $10,000 to help Salvation Army replenish the shelves at the food bank.
