Job action services withheld

Since the current job action started in September, teachers in School District 57 have withheld several nonessential services, including: Refusal to prepare student report cards except for Grade 12 marks when students complete courses.

Since the current job action started in September, teachers in School District 57 have withheld several nonessential services, including:

Refusal to prepare student report cards except for Grade 12 marks when students complete courses.

Refusal to provide any assessment data to the school board.

No participation in meetings called by district administrators or staff meetings unless it pertains to a health and safety issue.

Refusal to provide administrative officers with any printed, written or electronic communications. Only verbal communications will be provided.

No supervision of students before and after class times. Administration is now filling those supervisory roles. The district cancelled recess at its elementary schools because of staffing issues.

No participation in any district or ministry in-service training or in any professional development that is not teacher-directed.

No administration provided by teachers for district and provincial examinations.
