A 49-year-old man has been sentenced to nine months in jail for what police have called a "brutal" attack on an elderly woman at a rural property east of Prince George last year.
Paul Neumann must also serve a three-year probation once the jail term has finished.
He was issued the term Wednesday in Prince George provincial court on a charge of aggravated assault for a March 13, 2013 incident in Sinclair Mills that left a 73-year-old woman with serious but non-life threatening injuries that police believed were the result of blunt force trauma.
The victim and the attacker are known to each other, police have also said.
