The idea of an International Women's Day began in the early 1900s when the industrialized world was in a period of expansion and turbulence, booming population growth and radical ideologies.

In its various ways, ranging from a communist holiday to the U.N sponsored event, International Women's Day has been celebrated for about 100 years.

Annually on March 8, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their achievements. These events range from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through local women's craft markets, theatrical performances and much more! Come out and help support the women and children in your community.
