Two Surrey-based businesses - Sports Unlimited and the Janda Group - have answered the call for uniforms for India's three-athlete Olympic team.

"We care about athletes," said T.J. Johal of Sports Unlimited. "They train for countless hours and we feel their passion, their drive and dedication need to be rewarded."

Luger Shiva Keshavan is the India team captain and flag bearer for the opening and closing ceremonies and will be competing in his fourth successive Olympic Winter Games.

"We train in locations far from home on a regular basis," Keshavan said. "By coming to Vancouver and witnessing the generosity from everybody here, it felt just like coming home.

"The support we received from our people so far away from home definitely boosted our morale and we feel proud to be Indian."

In just over eight months, India will host athletes from British Columbia and Canada in Delhi at the Commonwealth Games.
