Drivers with unpaid parking tickets can have them waived later this week through a "toys for tickets" drive hosted by Imperial Parking (Impark).
On Thursday, between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m., Impark will waive one ticket for each toy donated to the Salvation Army.
There is no limit on the number of tickets that can be waived - you just have to bring in a toy for each ticket.
The toys have to be new, unused and unwrapped and dropped off at the Salvation Army's Christmas Wish Centre, 2221 Quinn St S., between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Donors must also bring a copy of their violation notice, statement or their license plate number to ensure proper credit of their account and those with multiple unpaid violations will need to bring an equal number of toys to match the number of notices they would like waived.
It's the third time Impark has provided the break in Prince George, the other two occurring on 2004 and 2011.
"A huge part of the motivation is the kick we get out of it," said Impark senior vice president of corporate development Julian Jones. "It's a great way to do some real tangible good in the community."
All toys and gifts donated will be used in The Salvation Army's Christmas relief efforts.
In addition to typical toys, the Salvation Army has identified a particular need for gift cards - movies, make-up, music - as well as puzzles, books and DVD's.
