Upcycled Treasures.
I have to thank you all for your overwhelming support on my last article. I’m thrilled to be able to write about the wonderful finds in the store.
Many of you shared your stories with me on some of the amazing treasures you’ve found over the years in our Hospice Resale Store.
One of the stories came from Maria, who bought probably one of the largest cabinet units ever known to man!
This cabinet was in the store for many years and doubled as the Resale library.
It was an obviously much-loved unit and had definitely started to show its age.
So, along comes Maria, who was just in the process of opening her own hair salon.
She was looking for a unique piece to create division in her space, as well as set up a coffee bar for her clients.
She knew as soon as her eyes locked onto the cabinet that it was meant to be and $40 later, she was hauling the massive unit to her new salon.
The pride is obvious in Maria’s message as she shows me the final result of what she did to the cabinet.
It’s a beautiful piece and would easily be worth thousands in a high-end furniture store.
She breathed new life into an older piece and gave it another chance to shine.
This is one of the most rewarding parts of working and volunteering in the Resale store.
