Housing starts remain on upswing

Prince George builders started work on 18 new single-family homes in November. That's more than double the seven starts seen over the same month last year and was the busiest November since 2006 when there were 23 starts.

Prince George builders started work on 18 new single-family homes in November.

That's more than double the seven starts seen over the same month last year and was the busiest November since 2006 when there were 23 starts.

Last month's count increased the year-to-date total to 150, compared to 113 by the same point in 2011, and was the highest such total since 2008 when there were 180 starts.

There was also a start on two units of multiple housing last month, raising that year-to-date total to 51, compared to 41 by the same point last year.
