The Prince George Hospice Society show home lottery has been a hit with the ticket-buying public.
With four months to go before the Nov. 14 draw, which will make one lucky ticket holder an instant homeowner, close to 2,000 of the 8,999 printed tickets have been sold at $100 each.
The 1,936-square-foot custom-built show home, located at 7693 Stillwater Cres., in the Creekside Properties subdivision at the east end of Malaspina Avenue, was built by Rise Construction of Prince George. It comes with two major appliances, a moving package from Moving Sucks, a dish set from DandyLines, TELUS Optik TV and a security/monitoring system from Curtis Elite Security.
"The lottery supports three of the 10 hospice beds we have," said Dianne Sears, fund development and marketing officer of the Prince George Hospice Society.
In addition to the lottery, the hospice society receives the bulk of its funding from Northern Health and private donors.
On Thursday, the third of nine early-bird prizes, a $1,000 gift card from Save On Foods, was handed out to D. and E. Reynard. The next prize, a his and hers mountain bike package from Koops Bikes, will be drawn July 25.
The hospice society is also selling 50/50 tickets for $20 each, which could result in a $100,000 payday, depending on the number of tickets sold.
Tickets are on sale at the show home, hospice society office at 1506 Ferry Ave., Canadian Tire, Northern Hardware, Hart Drugs Pharmacy, or by calling 1-866-419-7604.
The show home is open daily for viewing from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Go online to hospicedreamhome.ca for a virtual tour.
