It's the ongoing lament in the Lower Mainland but in Prince George it's a much brighter story.

Every year the B.C. Northern Real Estate Board commissions a study comparing housing affordability in Prince George and Vancouver and guess who's the perennial winner?

According to the latest study, released this week, Prince George scored a bargain-basement 30.2 per cent of pre-tax income needed to cover mortgage costs, utilities and municipal taxes and fees in 2009.
