One of three men convicted for their roles in a home invasion nearly one year ago was sentenced Tuesday to three years in jail.

Murphy John George received the term in Prince George Provincial Court for an April 25, 2011 incident in which police said four men broke into a home in the 1400 block of Nation Crescent in the Spruceland area, carrying edged weapons and bats.

One of the home's residents was able to scare off the attackers and call police and the home's three residents were left unharmed.

Police, who said it was a targeted attack, located the four a short time later near 15th Avenue and Central Street.

George was also sentenced to one year in jail for disguising his with an intent to commit an offence and issued a 10-year firearms prohibition.

The two others, Cole Vid Lambert and Derek Glenn Domeij, are next scheduled to appear in court on June 4 when pre-sentence reports are expected to be ready.

Aaron James Morin continues to face several charges in relation to the incident and his case has been transferred to Supreme Court.
