A youth was rescued from a steep ravine on Ginter’s Hill Friday, May 15 after becoming lost in the wooded area.
Prince George Search and Rescue (PGSAR) offered an update on Facebook, saying 23 members responded around dusk after the youth called 911 for help.
Working alongside RCMP officers, the rescue team quickly located the lost youth, who was reported as being cold but otherwise uninjured.
The young person had become stranded in a steep-sided ravine but was safely guided back to a nearby trail by rescuers.
After a short walk, the group returned to its base of operations, where BC Ambulance personnel were waiting.
PGSAR praised the youth for calling for help and reminded the public to follow the BC AdventureSmart Three Ts when heading outdoors, even in local green spaces. Make a trip plan, make sure you have proper training and take essential gear.
