Home invaders rob College Heights home

Police have arrested two suspects and are on the lookout for a third following a home invasion of a lower College Heights home late Monday night.

Police have arrested two suspects and are on the lookout for a third following a home invasion of a lower College Heights home late Monday night.

Cash and a coin collection valued at over $500 were stolen from an Imperial Crescent home, Prince George RCMP said, after three people forcibly entered the home sometime around 10:30 p.m. The home's two occupants were not injured.

With the help of a service dog, two suspects were tracked over more than 12 blocks, across streets and through parks to the back yard of a residence on Acadia Place.

One was found hiding in a dark corner of the yard and the other in a shed and both suffered minor bite wounds after failing to comply with police commands, Cpl. Craig Douglass said.

Kolt Collin Cardinal and Patrick Brody Gifford, both 19 years old, were apprehended and will remain in custody until at least today when a bail hearing is scheduled to be held.

Court records indicate Gifford comes from Dawson Creek, where in January 2013, he was sentenced to 295 days in jail for robbery. Cardinal, meanwhile, also faces a charge of driving while prohibited under the Motor Vehicle Act from a June 2013 incident.

The cash and coins have not yet been recovered and police are asking for the public's help in locating a third suspect who may be linked to a dark-coloured Ford Ranger pick-up.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only), or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword "pgtips."
