Prince George RCMP are crediting a sharp-eyed member of the public for recovering what appear to be a set of hockey cards stolen during a spree of break and enters this week.
Acting on an anonymous tip, RCMP converged Wednesday afternoon on a parking lot near 2nd Avenue and George Street where they found a male with the items.
The cards were seized as evidence and the person was released without process. But police said he could face charges depending on whether the cards match the ones stolen early Monday morning during a break-in at a 200-block Victoria Street building.
“The Prince George RCMP thanks the member of the public who called in the suspicious activity they witnessed. Their quick thinking helped to move this investigation forward,” said Cst. Jennifer Cooper.
