Prince George is known as the confluence of two major rivers and the junction of two major highways in Prince George is now known as the most notorious intersection in the city.
According to ICBC statistics, the city's most dangerous crossing in 2012 was where the two highways cross, with 58 crashes recorded. More than half of those collisions resulted in personal injury or fatality.
The intersection took over from the axis of Domano Boulevard and Highway 16 W, which was the 2011 board leader with 44 crashes.
That year Highway 16 and Highway 97 tied for second-most dangerous with Ferry Avenue and Highway 16 W, with 41 crashes apiece.
In 2012, ICBC recorded a total of 1,219 crashes at Prince George intersections, down from the 1,373 in 2011.
Statistics put Ferry Avenue and Highway 16 W as last year's second-most dangerous intersection - 46 crashes - and Domano Boulevard and Highway 16 W at third - 43 crashes.
Rounding out the top five most dangerous driving spots were Cowart Road and Highway 16 W, with 22 crashes, and 15th Avenue and Highway 97 S, with 21 crashes.
Overall, ICBC counted 4,600 crashes in Prince George in 2012, with 1,170 injured victims. Those numbers include crashes in parking lots and involving parked vehicles.
BCAA is expected to release the results of their annual worst roads survey Wednesday. Prince George streets are not likely to appear in the 2013 top 10.
