A crash near Quesnel this morning (Dec. 12) involved a vehicle from Prince George’s Regional Corrections Centre.

According to North District RCMP, the incident occurred before 10:30 a.m. along Highway 97 near Norn Road and weather is believed to be a factor as the roads were determined to be slippery at the time of the crash.

Mounties believe the conditions caused the vehicle to go off the road and into a ditch.

Some of the individuals inside were medically treated for 'various non-life threatening injuries' as a result of the incident.

Quesnel RCMP came upon the crash site today while answering a call to a separate motor vehicle collision.

An investigation is ongoing, the North District RCMP says.
