Highglen elementary school students will not have classes for the remainder of the week.
A fire at the school on Monday has caused this rare action to be taken by School District 57. A statement from district officials on Tuesday explained that "potential sites for relocation of the students are being assessed" but no final decisions have been made, so far.
A further update on the situation is expected on Wednesday.
