Here’s when the Prince George Spruce Kings will start their next playoff round

BCHL Coastal Conference Championship series begins March 29, 30 at RMCA

The Prince George Spruce Kings are going to be enjoying an extended break between playoff rounds.

The team announced this morning (March 21) the first two games of the B.C. Hockey League (BCHL) Coastal Conference Finals are scheduled for Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA).

Puck drop for both games will be 7 p.m.

The ‘Kings opponent is still to be determined as they await the winner of the Island Division Final series between the Victoria Grizzlies and the Powell River Kings.

That tilt is tied 2-2 after the first four games and has now turned into a best-of-three bout to see who will make the trek up to B.C.’s northern capital next week.

Prince George, ranked second overall in the league going into the 2018-19 playoffs, earned the right to have home-ice advantage in the best-of-seven Conference Championship after sweeping the Chilliwack Chiefs’ series 4-0 on Tuesday (March 19).

This gives the red, white, and blue nine days of rest before pursuing a second straight Coastal banner.

Last year, the Spruce Kings defeated Powell River in five games in the third round of the playoffs, including a 2-1 overtime thriller in Game Five, catapulting them into the BCHL Fred Page Cup Finals.

Prince George also had home ice advantage in that series as well.

Tickets for the next round are available starting tomorrow (March 22) at 10 a.m.

More information is available on the Spruce Kings’ website.

Victoria and Powell River play Game Five tomorrow and Game Six on Saturday; Game Seven is slated for Monday (March 25) if necessary.
