It's Giving Tuesday across the globe today (Dec. 3) and if you haven't figured out a way to do so or didn't know today was the day, here's one way you can in Prince George.
The YMCA of Northern B.C. is operating a text-to-give campaign.
“As a charity, our Association subsidizes over $300 000 annually for camps, memberships, and YMCA Beyond the Bell," YMCA of Northern B.C. Director of Communications and Philanthropy Stephanie Deol says in a news release.
"We’re asking the community to celebrate the season of giving and help us to raise money for local families. Everyone has something to give. If you can’t donate, you can join our team of over 200 incredible volunteers.”
The northern B.C. branch of the YMCA's goal is to raise awareness and funds to help people in local communities live healthier and happier lives through its YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
It's straightforward and extremely easy.
Text YMCA to 20222 to donate $5 or $25, donate online or donate in person at the Prince George Family Y, Vanderhoof Aquatic Centre or the Vanderhoof Integris Community Centre.
The global movement takes place each year after Cyber Monday as well as Black Friday.
