There was a fundraising dinner held Sunday night at the Hart Pioneer Centre to help cancer patient Laura Angell.
The dinner raised $6,211.20, which will help pay some of the medical expenses for Angell who is undergoing treatment for stage four bowel cancer, which was diagnosed in March.
Mavis Christie, a member of the Fallen Angell committee that organized the event, said they are grateful to everyone who supported the fundraiser by donating items for the silent auction and raffles, as well as those who attended.
"Without your support we would never have had the great success that we did," said Christie.
"This will go a long way to help pay some of the medical expenses incurred through Laura's journey."
