Having been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in March, Angell had surgery to remove a five pound tumor from her abdomen and is now undergoing chemotherapy.

Angell, who has two children, continues to have a positive outlook on life despite having had several health issues in the past.

To help ease the burden of growing expenses, Angell's friends and family are holding the Fallen Angell Fundraiser. The benefit dinner is at the Hart Pioneer Centre, 6986 Hart Highway, Aug. 9 at 5 p.m.

There will be a 50/50 draw, raffles and a silent auction. Tickets are $20 each and are available at 1315 Noranda Road.

If people are not able to attend the benefit and wish to donate to Angell there is a bank account set up at the Spruce Credit Union called the Laura Angell Trust Account No. 802546.

For more information or to arrange for tickets call Mavis at 778-693-2560.
