The winners of the nine Healthier You Awards were announced at the Ramada Hotel in Prince George Saturday night.

Mary Anne Arcand of Central Interior Logging Association took home the Health and Wellness Advocate of the Year Award, while the PG Native Friendship Centre's Anita Zakresky won the Youth Initiative of the Year Award.

The Multicultural Contribution Award went to Satish Mann, while the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia Rehabilitation Team was recognized as the Health and Wellness Innovator of the Year.

Robyn Boese, from Skidegate Health, snagged the First Nation Initiative of the Year Award.

The Central Interior Native Health Society captured the Health and Wellness Provider of the Year Award, while the Applied Informatics for Health Society walked away with the Technology in Health Care Award.

Executive director of the Northern HIV and Health Education Society, Mary Jackson, was named Health and Wellness Educator of the Year.

The awards honour those who have gone above and beyond their duties in their chosen health field to promote healthy living across all cultures in northern B.C.
