Police pulled off some magic, Thursday.

"We caught Harry Potter," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass, referring to the nickname given to a suspect due to his resemblance to the J.K. Rowling character.

The suspect was wanted for attempting to break into a fifth-wheel trailer on Pearson Avenue, using a screwdriver to threaten a neighbour who came to intervene, and for spraying the neighbour in the face with pepper spray. Among the descriptive points the neighbour gave to police was the suspect's resemblance to the fictional boy wizard. Someone believed to be this suspect was seen in the area of Strathcona Avenue and Upland Street. "An officer on patrol, part of the Downtown Enforcement Unit, recognized him from descriptions, confronted the male and subsequently arrested him," said Douglass.

The suspect is a 24-year-old resident of Prince George.

There was no incident during the arrest. Until he is formally charged, he can only be identified as one who shall not be named.
