• Oct. 25, 1993 — Dick Harris wins first term, as Reform MP for Prince George-Bulkley Valley with 40.3 per cent of the vote.
• June 2, 1997 — Harris wins second term, as Reform MP for Prince George-Bulkley Valley, with 54.3 per cent of the vote.
• January 2000 — Harris begins campaign for leadership of the Reform Party which he abandoned after seeing the support the United Alternative had among Reform membership at a late January convention. He eventually backed Stockwell Day for leader of proposed Canadian Alliance.
• Nov. 27, 2000 — Harris wins third term, as Canadian Alliance MP for Prince George-Bulkley Valley, with 58.9 per cent of the vote.
• April 25, 2001 — Harris named Chief Opposition whip for Canadian Alliance, taking over from John Reynolds who was promoted to House leader
• January 2002 — Harris steps down as party whip, works to help lead Stockwell Day's Canadian Alliance leadership campaign.
• August 2003 — Proclamation of riding boundary changes for the 2004 election, including the creation of the new Cariboo-Prince George boundaries. This prompts a nomination contest for the now-defunct Prince George-Bulkley Valley seat.
• March 19, 2004 — Elmer Thiessen squeaks by Harris with three votes to win the new Cariboo-Prince George Conservative party nomination in a contest marred by controversy over membership lists and mail-in ballot confusion.
• April 3, 2004 — An arbitration committee rules original vote was flawed and orders new Cariboo-Prince George nomination contest.
• April 25, 2004 — Harris wins Conservative nomination for Cariboo-Prince George over Elmer Thiessen by 16 votes.
• June 28, 2004 — Harris wins fourth term, this time as Conservative MP for new Cariboo-Prince George riding with 46.8 per cent of the vote.
• Jan. 23, 2006 — Harris wins fifth term, as Conservative MP for Cariboo-Prince George with 44.9 per cent of the vote.
• March 30, 2006 — Harris appointed as chair of Conservative Party's B.C. caucus.
• May 5, 2006 — Harris appointed chair of Conservative's forestry caucus.
• Oct. 14, 2008 — Harris wins sixth term, as Conservative MP for Cariboo-Prince George, with 55.4 per cent of the vote.
• May 2, 2011 — Harris wins seventh term, as Conservative MP for Cariboo-Prince George, with 56.2 per cent of the vote
• Oct. 25, 2014 — Harris announces his retirement and endorses Todd Doherty as his successor as Cariboo-Prince George Conservative candidate.
• June 18, 2015 — Harris makes farewell statement in House of Commons.
• Aug. 2, 2015 — The 41st Parliament is dissolved and Harris is no longer MP for Cariboo-Prince George.
