Guns and drugs seized from Victoria Street home

An ounce of heroin and a nine-millimetre Berretta handgun were among the items seized and a "known gang member" was arrested late Thursday night when Prince George RCMP raided a 100 block Victoria Street home.

An ounce of heroin and a nine-millimetre Berretta handgun were among the items seized and a "known gang member" was arrested late Thursday night when Prince George RCMP raided a 100 block Victoria Street home.

Police also seized 2,000 rounds of ammunition, a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, six rifles of which police said two have been confirmed as stolen, ammunition and two prohibited magazines for the Berretta, an ounce of ketamine, a quantity of cocaine, $700 cash and allegedly stolen identification and social insurance cards.

Members of the RCMP's drug section and crime reduction team carried out the raid at about 11:30 p.m. after obtaining a search warrant, police said in a statement.

Police are recommending charges of unlawful possession of firearms, possession of stolen firearms, possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited firearm with access to ammunition and possession of stolen property against the 21-year-old man who police said is a "known gang member" and was the sole occupant and tenant of the residence.

The man's name was not released.
