Prince George RCMP are urging gun owners to ensure their firearms are secure after a gun safe was stolen from a home on Tuesday afternoon.
Even though the safe was secured to a wall, it went missing from the home on Summit Street, near the intersection of Ospika Boulevard and Rainbow Drive. It was holding three handguns and one long gun.
Police believe it was a targeted theft and that whoever carried it out had a considerable amount of time to remove the safe.
"Guns were clearly targeted in this break and enter" said Cpl. Craig Douglass. "Every gun owner should take all precautions to secure their firearms and should refrain from discussing locations and details of their guns with others."
