A Prince George man pleaded guilty Wednesday to three charges in relation to a fatal rollover last year.
In a brief court appearance, Dustin Allen Tisdale pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm under the Criminal Code from a March 12, 2016 crash that claimed the life of Devin Barks and sent three other people to hospital.
Police have said the driver lost control of the vehicle on Highway 97 and it flipped into the northbound ditch between Handlen Road and Austin Road, ejecting all four passengers, none of whom were wearing seatbelts. The driver was belted in.
The counts are reduced from the charges Tisdale had originally been facing of criminal negligence causing death and bodily harm under the Criminal Code. The pleas also mean the case will not go to trial.
Tisdale will be sentenced once a pre-sentence report has been completed. Counts of impaired driving causing death and bodily harm will likely be stayed upon sentencing.
Tisdale continues to face civil lawsuits from the matter.
