Do you support Enbridge's $5.5 billion Northern Gateway oil pipeline? Why or why not?
"No. I 100 per cent do not," Crowley said. "There is the concerns about the pipeline itself, and what if it spilled. [But] we're also going to have supertankers shipping crude along the coast."
However, she said, her biggest reason for opposing the project is it would provide an additional market for oil from the Alberta Oil Sands.
"The whole thing with the tar sands that is so horrendous is they ship natural gas in from the arctic... and take water from the Athabasca River. They're using clean water, clean [natural] gas to process this filthy, dirty oil to ship it overseas."
Municipal infrastructure
Do you think Ottawa should provide more funding support to municipalities -for example, to fix roads? Why or why not?
Crowley said she doesn't support the federal government supporting increases to municipal road networks, but would support funding for public transportation and green infrastructure.
"I would use it to improve public transit and promote healthy lifestyles," she said. "Public transit is big, and it can be improved a lot."
She said she would also support funding for efficient, walkable urban planning and design.
Health funding
A 10-year federal health care transfer deal to the provinces ends in 2014. Should the provinces get more money in a renewed deal? Why or why not? If yes, how would you pay for it?
"I just don't know how much money is in the pot to increase it. But I definitely wouldn't decrease it," Crowley said.
Reducing federal transfer payments could have serious impacts on the quality of health care, she said.
But there is many competing demands for federal funding, she added.
"Education is at least as important," Crowley said.
