Serengeti's is moving ahead with a $3.3 million exploration budget for this year, $1.2 million of which will be spent in British Columbia.
Field crews are preparing to carry out work on the Kwanika property, north of Fort St. James.
Work includes drilling to better establish mineral potential.
The Kwanika project - a new gold discovery in 2007 - allowed Serengeti to raise more than $25 million to carry out further drilling and exploration in north-central B.C.
Serengeti recently announced the first estimates of its gold and copper resources at its Kwanika property. The company says the indicated resource at the property is 1.6 million ounces of gold and 1.1 billion pounds of copper.
Indicated resources are used to describe estimates that have not been proven as actual reserves.
