The fourth annual Girlfriends Who Care event held at the Ramada Hotel recently raised $1,500 to start a new endowment fund at the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation to fund equipment and provide education for women's heart health.

"The feedback about the quality of this year's GWC event was amazing," said Laura Hansen, organizer. "The attendees had a fabulous evening of fun, fashion, and desserts while fundraising for women's heart health."

Guest speak Dr. Colleen Hennessy talked about healthy living to promote good heart health.

There was a mini trade show, a photo both, mini manicures, and vendors with goods for sale. There was a fashion show featuring the latest for spring from Qurvy Queen, Park Avenue Apparel and Shhhh.

"We are so pleased to be the charity of choice for this event," said Judy Neiser, CEO of the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. "Women's heart health is a concern and funds raised for this event will go a long way to create an endowment over time that will continue to generate funds for this terrific cause."
